This private, escorted adventure takes you on a full 14 day immersion in the world’s most fascinating ancient civilization. Anything you’ve ever seen or read about Egypt can’t fully prepare you for the larger than life awe of being there and seeing it in person. The Isis Adventure allows ample time to experience it all - the major sites plus Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Alexandria and Abu Simbel plus a less visited cruise...down the fascinating man made lake, Lake Nasser, into the ancient Nubian Kingdom. Be one of only a handful of travelers who make this journey to see the temples and tombs rescued and relocated with with the creation of the Aswan High Dam.. Travel is by private car, horse drawn calesche, camel, donkey, felucca and jet aircraft, with 4 relaxing days/3 nights cruising on a luxury Lake Nasser cruise boat in the time honored tradition. Departures are guaranteed daily. The group size is just you, minimum 2 persons. Your Itinerary

Day 1. 
This Tour starts and ends at the Cairo Airport. You will be met at the Cairo airport by our tour representative and driver.  You will be met as you enter the terminal and before Immigration.  Our representative will give you your visa, assist you through Immigration, luggage and Customs, then take you to your hotel for the evening. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2.
Start with a visit to the Egyptian Museum in the morning. In the afternoon visit the Citadel of Saladin, and the Mosque of Mohammed Ali. Afterwards, if you wish, your escort will drop you off at the Khan Al Khalili bazaar.  Overnight in Cairo.      (B)

Day 3.
The entire day will be devoted to antiquities:   Memphis, Saqqara, The Pyramids and The Sphinx. You will even ride camels at the Pyramids. Overnight in Cairo.                                        (B)

Day 4.
Today starts early with the trip by air to Aswan.   The morning will be free except for boarding your Lake Nasser cruiser which will be your home and tour base for the next 3 nights. Lunch is served on board. In the afternoon you will visit Kalabsha temple, Beit El Wali, and the Kiosk of Kertassi. Afternoon tea is served in the lounge. Dinner and overnight on board in the Aswan Harbor. (BLD)

Day 5.
This morning you sail to Wadi El Seboua with a cocktail celebration while passing the Tropic of Cancer. Lunch served on board. You visit Wadi El Seboua temple, the temple of Dakka and temple of Meharakka and sail on Amada. Dinner and overnight aboard. (BLD)

Day 6.
Breakfast is followed by a morning visit to the temples of Amada and Derr as well as the Tomb of Penout. You sail on to Kasr Ibrim where the tour is conducted from the ship's sun deck as entrance to the site is not permitted. Celebratory music heralds your arrival to Abu Simbel. Lunch is served on board, and then you visit Abu Simbel temples. In the evening you will attend the Sound & Light Performance at Abu Simbel. Candlelight dinner and overnight aboard. (BLD)

Day 7.
After breakfast on board you disembark and fly return to Aswan. Today's touring in Aswan includes the High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple and then a felucca ride around the Nile islands with view of Elephantine and the Agha Khan Mausoleum (the interior is closed). Overnight in Aswan with breakfast.  (B)

Day 8.
Today starts with a drive by private car to Luxor with stops at Edfu and Kom Ombo on the way. This afternoon in Luxor you will visit Luxor temple.  Overnight in Luxor.  (B)

Day 9.
The day starts by a crossing to the West Bank followed by a donkey ride to the vicinity of the Valley of the Kings.  (A non-donkey option is available).   Visit to the Necropolis of Thebes, Valley of the Kings, The Tombs of the Nobles, The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon you will visit the Karnak temple complex. (B)

Day 10.
A half day visit to Dendera by private car. Later you will be taken to the airport for the return flight to Cairo and overnight in Cairo.   (B)

Day 11.
Start with a visit to Coptic Cairo including the Hanging Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue and the Coptic Museum.  If you wish, your escort will drop you off at the Khan Al Khalili bazaar. Overnight in Cairo.                   (B)

Day 12.
Another early start with a drive to Alexandria. Once there, the full day will let you visit Pompey’s Pillar, the Catacombs, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Citadel of Qauitbei and the Montazah Palace. Overnight in Alexandria.                                             (B)

Day 13.
Drive back to Cairo in the morning and then visit the Manial Palace, the Nilometer and the Sultan Hassan and Ri'afa mosques as time permits. Overnight in Cairo.                                       (B)

Day 14.
This is a totally free Day in Cairo for you to decide with your guide what to do. The guide and private car will be available to you from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM.  An optional farewell dinner and show on one of Cairo’s famous floating restaurants is available and highly recommended as a great way to cap off your visit.. A dayroom will be available at the hotel for freshening up in the afternoon and after the show.                                                                         (B)

Day 15.
Transfer to the airport for your early morning departure, between midnight and 3 AM. If your flight departs after 3 AM, an additional night in the hotel is necessary.

Itinerary may vary slightly from the above to accommodate flight schedules and availability, and other factors.  All sight seeing and services as stated will be included.

GRATUITIES. It is customary in Egypt to provide tips for your Guide, Driver, porters and others who will provide services for you.  Refer to Baksheesh for details of the custom.  Upon arrival, your Guide will request a small amount from you to be used to provide baksheesh to other.  Although tipping of your Guide and Driver is not required, it is expected. We suggest an average tip of $10/day per person for your guide and $5/day per person for your driver. You can certainly tip in USD.  Of course, you are welcome to tip more or less depending on your satisfaction with the services provided.

LAND ONLY PRICES.  All prices are in US dollars and are per person, double occupancy.  Extra nights can be added and include accommodation, breakfast and the availability of your Guide, car and driver for an 8 hour day.  Contact us for Christmas, New Years and Easter holiday periods.

PRE- and POST-TOUR NIGHTS AND EXTENSIONS.  If you arrive one or more days before your tour or depart one or more days after it ends we can provide excellent accommodations in Cairo.  We also have an excellent selection of Extensions to your tour.  After all, you've come all this way, you may as well see and do more.

TRAVEL INSURANCE.  We strongly recommend the purchase of Travel insurance.  This coverage protects you financially if you should have to cancel or interrupt your trip due to an unforeseen circumstance or if you need to seek medical attention while traveling.  The price is approximately 6% of the total.

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS.  Flights to and from Cairo are not included in our prices. We are happy to research airfares and schedules for you. International air is only available with purchase of the Egypt land package.
