Bahariya
Oasis Excursion Package
For an authentic Egyptian desert experience the Bahariya Oasis offers a
combination of extraordinary scenery, agriculture dating back thousands of
years, fascinating temples and the allure of the recent Golden Mummies
discoveries. Bahariya is the lowest point in Egypt and the nickname "Black
Desert" comes from the black colored hills and outcroppings all throughout
the area.

Day
1 |
Depart Cairo by
private vehicle arriving at the hotel for lunch (Bahariya is about
a 4 hour drive from Cairo). In the afternoon tour by 4X4 El Qasr,
the old Mudbrick Village, drive through palm groves over sand
dunes to see the rice fields panorama, Salt Lake, Pyramid Mountain
Arab, Black Mountain and climb to English House to view the
sunset. Return to hotel for dinner (open Bedouin BBQ with
musicians if sufficient guests at the hotel). Overnight at the
hotel. |

2 |
After breakfast
drive by 4X4 for full day Black and White Desert Safari. Stop at
the Black Pyramids and continue to the small oasis El Heiz. Then
on to the White Desert to view some of the most beautiful desert
scenery including “The Acacia Tree” and the bizarre mushroom
formations. See the sunset over the desert. Outdoor Bedouin BBQ
dinner this evening if you wish, alternatively dinner and
overnight at the hotel. |

3 |
After
breakfast visit the Greco/Roman mummies “The Golden Mummies” at
the Antiquities Office, then see the two colored tombs of the 26th
Dynasty, the temple of “Ain El Maftela”, the temple of Alexander
the Great, before returning to the hotel for lunch. Drive return
back to Cairo. |
