AL MOUDIRA
Be a Pharaoh
Al Moudira is a rare
gem...one of the world's great hotel treasures, it is an
oasis of Middle Eastern charm and hospitality in its own
garden on Luxor's West Bank. It IS, as they say in
their own literature, an Oriental Palace with hand
crafted beauty, frescoed archways and flower-filled
courtyards, every room an individual and sumptuous
escape. The baths are as spacious as hammams and richly
appointed.
"Al Moudira" means "the
boss" and this was name given to the owner, designer and
hands on supervisor of its construction and this epithet
lasted, given name to the property itself. Each of its
54 luxury suites is unique, fusing vibrant and restful
colors and fabrics with hand painted murals from
Egyptian history and mythology. All have air
conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, mini bars with
graceful wooden shutters on every window. Breakfast is
served on the terrace with fresh orange juice and jam
made from the fruits of the Al Moudira garden. A
different menu, mixing Mediterranean, Eastern and
European flavors, is prepared nightly for dinner in The
Great Room.
Two lounges welcome you to
relax and enjoy either Colonial or Arabian Night
ambiance. At the heated and imaculate swimming pool you
can enjoy snacks, salads, pizzas and mezze. Complete
your touring day with a massage or Turkish bath, or
relax in the solarium. An art gallery, small shop and
babysitting services are also available. Al Moudira
stands between the Nile and the Theban mountains, only
20 minutes from Luxor's airport. But, as they say, a
world apart.
